Hey, I'm Sarah.

I've been a full time doula for 18 years and have  supported over 975 births (which...yeah. I know. That's a lot of babies.)

Meet your mentor

I'm also a birth photographer, childbirth educator, mentor, and the person newer doulas tend to come to when they're thinking:

"Okay...I got certified. Now what the heck do I do?"

Truthfully...doula trainings might teach you how to become certified.

But they rarely teach you how to actually build confidence, support real clients, navigate complicated births, make money, market yourself, or grow a business that lasts.

And that's where I come in.

I've spent nearly two decades building a thriving career in birth work., attending hundreds and hundreds of births, learning what works in real life (not just in textbooks and manuals) and now I help doulas do the same.

No fluff.
No fake "girl boss" energy.
No pretending confidence magically appears overnight.

Just honest mentorship, real education, practical skills, and the kind of support I wish more doulas had when they were starting out.

You don't need more information.

You need experience, guidance, and someone in your corner who's actually done this before.

And lucky for you...

I've seen a thing or two.

CATS. I am definitely going to be a crazy cat lady when I’m old. We currently have 3 and they are my fur babies. Dandelion is an orange and white part Maincoon who is 16, Josephine is a very chubby grey cat who is 9 (follow her on IG @josephinefatcat) and Poppy is a spunky tuxedo cat who is 6. I spend way too much time sending and receiving adorable and funny cat videos with my fellow feline loving friends.

MUSIC is definitely the soundtrack to my life. I enjoy a wide range of genres and I could NEVER pick a favorite song. I am also a vocalist and often sing for church services, weddings, memorials, special events, etc. I’m a first soprano and live for the high notes! Music for sure adds to my quality of life and I can’t imagine life without it.

I am a huge DISNEYLAND fan. It’s legit the best place on earth. Put me on Main Street with a Disneyland Starbucks in hand and I’m in heaven. My favorite ride: Peter Pan.

I ADORE COFFEE. You will literally never see me without a Starbucks drink in hand. My fav: a venti black and white mocha, 3 pumps of each, yes to whip, always hot (yes even in the summer).

Do we have anything in common?

I am the volunteer doula coordinator at St. Joseph and St. Michael hospitals in the Tacoma/Silverdale area. I helped to launch, orient, train and smoothly run a hospital based volunteer doula program.

This hospital birth center employs doulas and I was hired as the lead doula when this birth center opened in 2016. I helped interview, hire, train and orient our staff doulas as well as helped run the birth center more efficiently, helped with communication between nurses and doulas, etc.

I worked side by side with Penny Simkin for 8 weeks assisting her with her in person 6 week childbirth courses, meeting her for tea at her home to chat about all things birth, etc. I was fan girling big time!
